Make sure the tape doesn't absorb polish so you can make a clean line! Also, to prevent it from pulling your polish off, stick the tape to the back of your hand or something first so it isn't as sticky!
ReplyDeleteugh, I've tried putting the tape on my hands (and on my jeans). I don't know about the polish being absorbed. Sometimes I think it's not sticky enough and sometimes it's too sticky.
ReplyDeleteI pull mine off when my polish is wet. I also do one finger at a time.
ReplyDeleteI use that cheap clear tape and cut it into small strips. I only do one finger at a time and remove the tape immediately after I paint it. It really doesn't matter how sticky the tape is- it really doesn't barely need to stick at all, just make sure you pull it off right away and paint along the line that the tape makes if that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteI hate it when that happens.. here's my tape mani.. am sure you did what I did but of course, my left hand does not look anythign like my right hand http://beautyshoesnailsfun.blogspot.com/2012/05/tip-top-nails-and-striping-tape.html
ReplyDeleteDefinitely pull the tape off while the polish is still wet. I usually give it about 30 seconds to set and then pull the tape off. Letting it dry is what causes the jagged edges. Also, you have to make sure there are no bubbles at the edge of the tape, which is difficult because the straight tape doesn't want to conform to the curvature of your nails, but it's important to check the seals along the edges right before you paint.
