Gradient manicure!
Gradient manicure!
I wanted to do a bit of a tutorial thing but I didn't really get to photograph all the steps. Anyways the base is Pretty and Polished Sphere on the bottom, the middle green blue is a franken made from TKB Trading's duo green blue, and the last color is Model's own Indian Ocean. The mani was easy but time consuming. I'll try it again soon with glitters I think.

Pretty & Polished, Lush Lacquer, and Lynnderella Comparison
I'm finally freaking done, I just took my last final! I guess I'm really pumped but at the same time I'm REALLY wishing google had an algorithm for "What should I do with my life now?" haha, sadly, they haven't gotten there yet.
But anyways, there have been a lot of dupes/semi dupes of Lynnderella's Connect the Dots come about lately, or at least matte black and white glitter polishes coming around. I love it! But I thought today that I would do a little comparison of the three that I have. Please forgive the messy paint job, straggly cuticles, and not the best of photography.
The review here is of Lynnderella's Connect the Dots, Pretty and Polished Valentino, and Lush Lacquer's Salt n' Peppa. As you can see from the pics, connect the dots and salt n' peppa were pretty similar, while lush's creation was FAR more glittery with the irridescent glitter to it. Lynn is on the middle, Lush 2 and 4, and 1 and 5 are Valentino.
I really wanted to pick a winner that wasn't lynn but alas, the shimmer in the base of her polish goes a long way, not to mention on each nail I can see 3 sizes of square and hex glitter not to mention the longer spindrels or whatever they are. Lush was the most glitter packed and I really shouldn't have put a second coat on, it would have been perfect with one. Valentino was beautiful, went on great and I will definitely wear it again, that said, it wasn't magical, well, it is, but not like Connect the Dots.
Two coats- Barielle's u-concrete-me is the under coat.

Lush Lacquer!
So, I put Lush Lacquer's birthday cake and spring fling on last night and noticed it's almost a pretty and polished party on my yacht dupe! I wasn't as wild a fan of the color of spring fling but birthday cake was amazing! This is three coats with two coats out the door on the top, there was still some texture to it but I don't really mind it. If you're into smoothness I'd suggest a thicker top coat. Also, so sorry about the cuticle stuff, I got paint on my hands spray painting my new polish rack! Pics to come!
A swatch of party on my yacht is available at Chalkboard Nails
Also, sorry about the bad photo, camera is charging this is with my phone.

Futurama Frankens!
Sooo, while I'm by no means in the frankening business I do have some thoughts on what I'm going to do for the first 'set' that I make. I'm always so enamored with the inspirations that lots of my fellow bloggers get so I'm thinking I'm going to create my own 'theme'! And... Get ready for it! Futurama!!! And they're all going to rhyme. Oh, and I might have had a cocktail. So pumped though!
No scorn for the hair horn hopefully an orange to make Fry proud...
I've gotta see ya Leela- maybe a mix of like a royal with spectraflair...

Watermelon!
This is barielle- ugh something I can't currently remember, ulta- fuchsia for you, art clubs- black holographic. So originally I intended on doing every other nail with opposing tips but I thought about it and realized the rinds should have white spots and as I was traveling I didn't have any. I used orly's french manicure to do the tips/half moons. Also, has anyone else felt silly at TSA for having only nail polish in their little bag of under four ounces haha?
Gonna put the giveaway details up tomorrow! Yay!!!
